The objective of the article is to propose Buddhist Economics as an alternative to the dominant Traditional Economy, which has been unable to foresee the recurrent crises of the system, has not been able to resolve them, and has contributed to spreading a mindset based on the idea that the desirable end is unlimited economic growth, based on ever- increasing consumption. The consequences of such a mentality have led to a situation that endangers both human and non-human life on the planet. In light of this situation, Buddhist Economics stands as an alternative, whose principles contrast with those of traditional economics, as they are based on a completely different philosophy and worldview. The text discusses this alternative in three areas: a) the relationships between human beings and Nature; b) the relationships between human beings, and c) the relationships between human beings and the products of their work.Downloads
